Community Action Agency (CAA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation operating for over 45 years in Jackson, Lenawee, and Hillsdale Counties. CAA is a HUD and MSHDA approved housing counseling agency. CAA provides services to clients through over 60 programs across the three counties. Programs range from Credit Counseling, Financial Literacy, Homebuyer Education, loan document review, Foreclosure Prevention Services Weatherization, Emergency Services, Homeless Prevention Services to Adult Literacy. CAA has a variety of programs that assist families to self-sufficiency through programs including an IDA Program (matched savings program used for Down Payment on a home, funds to start or expand a business, or secondary education), Income Tax Assistance, Head Start, Early Head Start, WIC, Parent Education, etc.
