Getting Started

Registration

Select your location by state and county.
Select your local organization.
Fill out the Personal Information Form and click the Submit Registration button.

Fees and Payment

All courses on this system charge a fee. All payments are made using a credit card or an existing PayPal account.

If you don't have a credit card, you should contact your local organization, and they may be able to help you submit payment in person or with a mailed check.

Logging In

Enter your Username (typically your e-mail address) along with the password that you chose during registration.

If you have forgotten your password, please click the Forgot Password link and a new temporary password will be e-mailed to you. If you do not have an e-mail address, please contact your local organization that you signed up with to have your login information reset.

Navigating the Course

Course Layout

There are several items on each page to help you understand the material.
Video: Most pages include a video that summarizes the information presented.
Text: The text on each page provides you with a thorough explanation of each section.
Key Terms: On the right side of many pages will be the short definitions of the terms found in that section. This is designed to help you understand everything you are listening to and reading.
At the end of each chapter, (group of pages) there will be a short quiz. This quiz covers the material on the pages included in that chapter. You must get all questions correct to continue.

Progressing Through Sections

For your reference, course chapters are organized from top to bottom on the left-hand side of the site.
Also, there are "back" and "next" buttons located at the bottom of each page.
Use the video, text, and key term definitions to gain a complete understanding of each section.
At the end of each chapter, you must be able to answer 80 percent of  quiz questions correctly to advance to the next section. Once you do, you will advance automatically.

Chapter Quizzes and Module Tests

After reading about each chapter, a short quiz will follow to measure your understanding of the material. To take the quiz, read each question and select the best answer from the choices provided. To select an answer, simply click the radio button to the immediate left of your desired choice. Once you make your selection, you will see it marked by a small, green circle within the radio button. After answering all of the questions on the page, click the Submit Your Answer button at the bottom. The same process applies to the tests at the end of each module.


Returning to the Course

Each time you leave the site or logout, you will need to login again when you return. Once you do, you should be taken to the point where you left off in your course.
Completing the Course

Requirements for Completion

For each course, you will be required to pass each quiz and module test before you are finished. The knowledge you gain from each chapter's material should prepare you to answer the questions and complete the course.

Printing Your Certificate

Once you successfully complete the course, you will have an opportunity to print an official Certificate of Homebuyer Education Completion to present to your lender. To do so, you will need to have a printer hooked up to your computer. Click the Print Certificate button and make sure your printer is powered on.

Checking in with Your Counselor

Group information should appear on the right hand side of the home page, complete with contact information for your counselor. Your counselor is there to help you, so feel free to use that additional resource along the way.
Technical Difficulties

Cannot Locate a Local Organization

Local organizations are opening up regularily. Please check back often to see if one is available in your area.

Cannot Pay for Registration

When you register, you will complete a personal information form. Once that is complete, you will be able to select which courses you would like to purchase and enter your billing information.

Cannot Watch Videos

There are certain system requirements that must be fulfilled in order to watch the videos.

Cannot Get Past Tests

In order to get past each test, you must be able to take the test and answer each question correctly. You may take the test as many times as needed in order to complete it successfully. Once you answer a test correctly, you will be taken automatically to the next chapter.

Cannot Log In

Make sure your username and password are typed correctly.
Make sure you clicked the login button after your entered your username and password.
Verify that you do not have your caps lock engaged.
If you still cannot log in, contact your counselor or click the Contact Us button at the bottom of the screen to verify login information.

Cannot Print Certificate

Before you can print the certificate, you must complete your course.
Once the course is complete, a certificvate will appear on the screen for you to print.
Please ensure that your printer is hooked up to your computer, powered on and has paper.
Press the button to print your certificate.
If you complete these steps and your certificate still does not print, contact your counselor or click the Contact Us button at the bottom of the screen.
