USA Homeownership Foundation, Inc. (VAREP) provides an online Home Buyer Education curriculum through eHomeAmerica. The eHomeAmerica curriculum that is based on the nationally recognized eight hour NeighborWorks® America curicula-Realizing the American Dream. This online version helps individuals get the education and certification that they need at their convenience. Though this online course cannot replace in-person home buyer counseling and is not HUD approved, we believe that participants can gain a thorough understanding of the home buying process. Each participant in this course will be connected to a VAREP housing counselor to ensure that participants continue to receive the one-on-one counseling they need over the phone or in-person while receiving their certification online.

The online curriculum topics include:

• Are You Ready to Buy a Home
• Budgeting and Credit
• Shopping for a Home
• Getting a Mortgage Loan
• Keeping Your Home and Managing Your Finances

This course takes approximately 8 hours to complete and requires a registration fee of $99. Participants are able to navigate through the course and its many interactive videos, readings, quizzes and exams. The online course is provided in both English and Spanish. This online education course offered by VAREP is not HUD approved since it is not provided in-person.
