Wayne Metropolitan Community Action Agency
The mission of Wayne Community Action Agency is to empower low-income people and strengthen communities through diverse services, leadership and collaboration. Since 1990, Wayne Metro has partnered with the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA), U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Wayne County and local communities as a MSHDA-designated Homeownership Counseling Agency and a Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) to provide homeownership counseling, education and assistance throughout Wayne County. All Agency Homeownership Counselors utilize the National Industry Standards for Homeownership Education and Counseling.
Wayne Metro offers monthly in-person workshops in Detroit, Westland, and Taylor. These classes are $20 per household and last between 3 and 8 hours. You can find our schedule of classes at Wayne Metro Events.
An alternative to the in-person workshop is eHome online training. This is a great option for prospective homebuyers who wish to take the training at their own pace from any computer or for borrowers who are near closing and have a homebuyer education requirement from their lender. There is a $99 one-time fee to access eHome.
All classes satisfy the MSHDA required Homebuyer Education curriculum. If you would like more information or are interested in attending the in-person workshop please contact the Wayne Metro Connect Center at 734-284-6999.
PLEASE ALLOW TWO BUSINESS DAYS FOR A COUNSELOR TO CONTACT YOU AND RELEASE YOUR CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION.
